Diplomacy is an intricate art and a vital tool by which states implement their foreign policies, aiming to protect both collective and individual interests. It facilitates the promotion of political, commercial, cultural, and various other relationships, all while ensuring the maintenance of peaceful interactions across the globe.
Over the years, aside from my public health research, | have had the privilege of conducting numerous discussions that delve into the realms of diplomacy and foreign policy. These conversations have featured insights from diplomats, ambassadors, and heads of mission operating within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and beyond. Recently, I had a unique opportunity to examine diplomacy from a fresh and invigorating perspective. During the Sultanate of Oman’s National Day celebration, graciously hosted by His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said, I had the pleasure of engaging with interns currently positioned at EU embassies within the Diplomatic Quarter.
These interns generously shared their motivations for pursuing embassy internships, offering insights into their individual experiences, perceptions of diplomacy, and the invaluable lessons they’ve gleaned during their tenure. I work in the Trade Council at the Danish embassy, which has sparked a strong interest in

My interest in diplomacy and foreign policy was ignited by a fascination with the complexities of international relations and their role in fostering global stability. Over time, I have come to view diplomacy as a vital mechanism for bridging divides and addressing global challenges through collective action. The opportunity to merge my legal expertise with hands-on experience in an international setting motivated me to pursue an embassy internship. I have primarily focused on political, human rights, and peacebuilding initiatives of diplomacy, which are central to understanding the dynamics of international relations.
